When the air temperature rises above 25°C, the body loses a significant amount of fluid. This leads to thicker blood, making circulation more difficult and increasing blood pressure. This condition poses a serious risk of heart attacks and strokes.

That’s why it’s crucial to monitor your blood pressure regularly in summer. If you have hypertension, check your blood pressure at least twice a day — morning and evening. This helps identify problems early and take preventive action.

Stay hydrated throughout the day — drink plenty of clean water. Dehydration, especially in older adults, affects blood flow. Eat foods rich in potassium and magnesium like bananas, leafy greens, vegetables, and legumes.

Physical activity is also vital: light exercise, walking, cycling, or even dancing helps improve circulation and stabilize blood pressure. Take evening walks when it’s cooler, for at least 30–40 minutes.

Avoid going out during peak sun hours — between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. If you must be outdoors, wear breathable clothing, a hat, and apply sunscreen.

Adjust your diet: reduce fried, salty, and fatty foods. Opt for fruits, vegetables, fish, and healthy grains instead.
