Shavkat Mirziyoyev congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on Kurban Hayit
The President’s Press Service reported that on June 3, 2025, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, congratulated the people of the country on the occasion of Kurban Hayit. Below is the full text of the president’s message:

Dear compatriots!

It gives me great pleasure to sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, all our faithful Muslim fellow citizens, and our entire nation from the bottom of my heart on the great and sacred holiday — Kurban Hayit, and to express my deep respect and good wishes.

We offer endless thanks to the Merciful and Almighty Allah for the opportunity to celebrate this glorious holiday — Eid al-Adha — which is dear to the entire Islamic Ummah, together with our people in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

Undoubtedly, in recent years, in the New Uzbekistan, the sacred religion of Islam, along with one of its main holidays — Kurban Hayit — plays an important role in building a social, people-oriented state, strengthening its spiritual foundations, and increasing its influence.

Especially, the virtues of this holiday such as humanity, unity, generosity, and nobility are in harmony with the large-scale reforms being implemented in our country on the basis of the noble idea “For the dignity and happiness of a person” and serve to enhance the effectiveness of our programs aimed at supporting vulnerable segments of the population, showing special care for the elderly, youth, and women, and reducing poverty.

Dear friends!

Today, enormous work is being carried out in our country to strengthen harmony among representatives of different nationalities and religious confessions, to ensure freedom of conscience, to preserve our religious and educational heritage, and to raise the younger generation in the spirit of national and universal values.

Speaking of this, it is necessary to note the special attention being given to deeply studying the noble principles of Islam, collecting and widely promoting the jewels of our great history and culture, and the rich heritage of our famous scholars. In particular, the ancient wonder of the East — the city of Samarkand — was declared the capital of Islamic culture for the year 2025, the 1155th anniversary of our great compatriot Imam Maturidi is being widely celebrated across the country, and to the ranks of international research centers named after Imam Bukhari, Imam Maturidi, and Imam Termizi, the Bahauddin Naqshband Research Center, which will begin operating this year in the city of Bukhara, has been added.

The Islamic Civilization Center, being built in our capital Tashkent, is attracting great interest among our people and the international community as a grand and unique scientific-spiritual project. I am confident that this majestic complex will become a vivid symbol of our millennia-old ancient history, our rich and unique national culture, and a highly significant event in the life of New Uzbekistan.

Dear compatriots!

During these blessed days, 15,000 of our fellow citizens are performing the sacred pilgrimage — Hajj. In these radiant moments when good prayers and intentions are accepted, we sincerely congratulate them on Kurban Hayit as well and ask the Creator to allow them to return to our homeland safe and sound.

We hope that our respected pilgrims will serve as a special example and model in strengthening solidarity in our society, kindness and compassion in our families and communities, enhancing the upbringing of our youth, encouraging them to seek knowledge, acquire modern professions, serve the Motherland, and assist those in need.

On these joyful and blessed days, we also sincerely congratulate our compatriots living in foreign countries on this great holiday and wish them health, well-being, happiness, and success.

We also warmly congratulate the Muslim Ummah in distant and nearby corners of the world and wish peace, progress, and prosperity to their peoples and countries.

Dear and respected compatriots!

We all see how complex and dangerous the modern world is becoming. In such a critical environment, preserving peace, mutual respect, and harmony in our country and working selflessly in all spheres and sectors, we will surely be able to achieve our lofty goals.

Of course, our courageous and noble people, who have worthily passed through many trials and hardships in their history, are fully capable of doing so.

I believe that such noble qualities inherent to our people — compassion, mutual unity, and cohesion — will serve as an unparalleled source of strength and power on this path.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you, dear ones, on the sacred Kurban Hayit and wish you all peace and tranquility, health and well-being, and prosperity and abundance in your homes.

May this blessed holiday be happy for all of us!
