For the purpose of developing livestock farming in Namangan region, 730 pedigree sheep of the “Bayat” breed were brought from Mongolia. This breed belongs to the fat-tailed sheep type and is distinguished by its high adaptability to harsh climatic conditions.
According to the information, the live weight of “Bayat” ewes reaches 35–40 kilograms, while rams reach 45–50 kilograms. These sheep are considered economically profitable due to their high meat and fat productivity. Experts believe that their genetic traits and productivity create great opportunities for local livestock farming.
The initial batch of 730 sheep was placed at the “Akhsi Chorva” LLC in the Uychi district of Namangan region. In the next stages, their adaptation to the climate, maintenance, and breeding possibilities will be carefully studied.
Within the framework of the general project, it is planned to import 100,000 pedigree sheep from Mongolia. Specialists assess this initiative as a new stage and a climate-import innovation in the livestock sector. If the project is successfully implemented, the supply of high-quality meat and fat products in the local market is expected to increase.
