In the Fergana region, a successful joint operation was conducted by the State Security Service Border Troops and regional department officers. During this operation in the "Dehqonobod" neighborhood of the Rishtan district, an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of "seeds of death" into our country was thwarted.
A "secret warehouse" inside a wheel
Entering from across the border Volvo A truck of this model caught the attention of the officers. During the inspection, it was revealed that the wheels of this massive vehicle were not just ordinary tires, but had been converted into a special hiding place for narcotic substances.
Hidden inside these wheels were:
3 kilograms 408 grams of "opium";
16 kilograms 405 grams of "hashish" were found and seized as physical evidence.
Criminal accomplices and a "family business"
During the operation, not only the driver, born in 1974, but also the "client" who was supposed to receive the poison was apprehended. He turned out to be a young man born in 2000, residing in the Uchkuprik district.
Investigations revealed that the young man's father, born in 1980, was also directly involved in this illegal trade. Now, the "father-son" duo and the driver will face the law for their actions.
Punishment is inevitable
Currently, a criminal case has been initiated regarding this incident under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code (Article 246, Part 2 and Article 25, 273, Part 5). A preventive measure of "detention" has been applied to the individuals caught in the act. Investigative actions are ongoing.
