Uzbekistan to Introduce Anti-Drug Symbol

Citizens combating drug crimes and addiction in Uzbekistan will be awarded with honorary badges. The government has adopted a resolution to this effect.

The list of nominees will be submitted annually by the Agency on Drugs and Firearms Control. The awarding ceremony will take place every year on June 26, coinciding with the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

The badge will only be awarded once. The document also specifies how the badge should be worn — on the left side of the chest, following state decorations.

Earlier in November, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution aimed at protecting young people from drugs. According to the resolution, penalties will be strengthened against individuals involved in the distribution of drugs and those who conceal such crimes.

Furthermore, measures are set to be developed for identifying and treating people suffering from addiction and substance abuse. Read “Zamin” on Telegram!
