Number of travelers from Uzbekistan going abroad rose by 23% in a year

By early December 2025, nearly 7 million Uzbek citizens traveled abroad as tourists. According to the National Statistics Committee, the tourist flow increased by 23% over the year. This was reported by kursiv.uz.

Most trips were to Central Asian countries. Kyrgyzstan led the destinations with 3.1 million visitors. Kazakhstan and Tajikistan followed with 1.3 million and 1.2 million tourists, respectively.

The top five also included Russia (399 thousand) and Saudi Arabia (296.4 thousand). In addition, 251.1 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan traveled to Turkey, and 126.3 thousand to the UAE.

It is reported that Tashkent plans to increase exports of tourism services to $20 billion over the next five years. As part of the plans, Samarkand is set to build convenient pedestrian paths and bridges linking attractions into a single tourist area.

In Shakhrisabz, the first phase of construction of the large “Gelon” tourism complex will begin, while the Pop district plans to establish the “Arashan” mountain resort and tourism zone. Ichan-Kala in Khiva is also said to be transformed into an interactive open-air “smart” museum format.
