Freedom of speech is irreversible: the position of New Uzbekistan

In his address to the parliament and the people on December 26, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev once again emphasized that the open policy of freedom of speech and the press in the country will be firmly continued. The head of state clearly stated that there would be no hesitation or retreat on this issue.

According to the president, openness and transparency will remain one of the main pillars of state policy in the context of New Uzbekistan. "I want to say it openly once again. Let everyone listen with both their right and left ears. In the era of large-scale renewal in our country, in the era of New Uzbekistan, we will never deviate from the policy of openness. This is the first issue. Ensuring freedom of speech and the press has remained and will remain a priority for us. Everyone should know this," he said.

The appeal also paid special attention to the development of civil society. The head of state announced the development of a civil society support strategy for the next five years. It was noted that this strategy plays an important role in increasing the effectiveness of reforms.

According to the plan, the social order system for civil society institutions will be fully digitized, and the allocated financial resources will be doubled. This is aimed at further activating the activities of non-governmental organizations and strengthening public control.

In addition, the processes of establishing charitable organizations will be simplified, and new mechanisms aimed at ensuring their accountability and transparency will be introduced. This is expected to serve to strengthen the atmosphere of trust in society.

In short, based on official statements, it can be said that in New Uzbekistan, openness, freedom of speech, and support for civil society will remain an unchanging direction of state policy.
