According to the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs press service, during an оперативный operation in Chilanzar district, a man who had been distributing drugs using the “stash drop” method was detained. This was reported by upl.uzreports.
According to law enforcement, at the time of his detention he admitted he had managed to leave a total of 20 hidden stashes in Chilanzar’s 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th residential areas. The “stash drops” were seized as evidence.
The investigation found that while looking for a job, the man came across an Instagram post advertising a position at a car wash. After contacting them via Telegram, he was offered a job as a regular courier and agreed, sending his documents.
It is reported that he was later required to distribute drugs, and when he tried to refuse, he was pressured with threats. As a result, he engaged in illegal activity for three months.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 5 of the article of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan related to illegal drug trafficking. The suspect faces up to 20 years in prison.
