The Ministry of Economy and Finance has published updated market prices for key consumer goods in the capital. The monitoring data were collected at Tashkent’s largest trading venues — the Yangi Qo‘yliq and Eski Juva markets.
As of December 30, meat products remain among the most expensive items. In particular, the price of 1 kg of beef has reached up to 100,000 soums, while lamb is offered at around 105,000 soums. Vendors attribute this to seasonal demand and rising feed costs.
The vegetable market remains relatively stable. Potatoes are sold for up to 6,200 soums, onions for 2,200 soums, beets for 4,000 soums, cabbage for 4,500 soums, and carrots for up to 3,000 soums. However, some items — notably bell peppers — have surged sharply to as high as 35,000 soums.
In the grains and spices segment, the highest rice price is up to 15,000 soums, while garlic is recorded at around 19,000 soums. Greenhouse produce is traditionally more expensive: cucumbers up to 50,000 soums, and tomatoes and eggplants up to 25,000 soums.
Differences are also noticeable on fruit and vegetable shelves. Apples are offered up to 30,000 soums, pears up to 40,000 soums, and grapes up to 50,000 soums. Among citrus and tropical fruits, oranges are up to 25,000 soums, mandarins up to 28,000 soums, and bananas and pineapples sell for about 25,000 soums.
Experts say that higher demand ahead of the New Year may put upward pressure on the prices of certain products. Therefore, shoppers are advised to compare markets and keep track of prices.
