On December 30, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev is scheduled to personally review the work being carried out as part of the first phase of New Tashkent city construction. The visit once again highlights the priority given to one of the country’s largest urban development projects.
During the visit, large-scale development activities in the New Tashkent area are expected to be reviewed, including the creation of modern road and transport infrastructure, installation of engineering and utility networks, and the formation of power and energy systems. The pace of construction of residential neighborhoods, schools, kindergartens, and social facilities will also be in focus.
The New Tashkent project aims not only to ease the burden on the capital, but also to create thousands of new jobs and fundamentally improve residents’ quality of life and the urban environment. Reports to the President are expected to cover work completed within the first phase, existing challenges, and upcoming plans.
Observers believe the visit could provide an additional push to speed up construction in New Tashkent and deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
