UEFA has announced the composition of the draw pots for the 2026/2027 Nations League. As previously reported, the Russian national team is once again absent from the list of tournament participants. This was reported by euro-football.rureports.
This decision is not unexpected: the restrictions imposed on the Russian Football Union (RFU) are still in effect and remain at the FIFA level as well. These sanctions have been ongoing for nearly four years, so the Russian national team is only allowed to participate in friendly matches during this period.
The Nations League draw will be held on February 12. Last summer, the Portuguese national team triumphed in the tournament, winning against Spain in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw in the final.
