U.S. first lady Melania Trump took part in a special event held on the White House South Lawn. As part of this event, a new beehive in the shape of the presidential residence was installed.
With the installation of the new hive, the number of bee colonies on the White House grounds has reached four. They help support ecosystem stability by pollinating the vegetable gardens, flower beds and plants on the National Mall.
According to experts, in favorable climate conditions, honey production could exceed 100 kilograms. With the new hive, this figure is expected to increase by another approximately 13.5 kilograms. The honey produced will be used for White House needs, and part of it will be provided to local food businesses.

According to Associated Press, this initiative is part of preparations for an upcoming state visit in the coming days. In particular, it is being seen as an environmentally and symbolically significant step ahead of the visit by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, known for supporting beekeeping.
At the same time, it is also said that some changes may be made to the visit program after the shooting that took place during an event attended by Donald Trump.
In short, this initiative at the White House is not only environmentally significant, but also a diplomatic signal — emphasizing nature, sustainability and cooperation.
