The analytical company Counterpoint Research has presented a rating of the best-selling smartphones in 2024. The iPhone 15, repeating the success of last year's iPhone 14, again took first place in this year's ranking. The main markets for the iPhone 15 are the United States and China, which account for almost half of annual sales.
The second and third places were taken by the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 15 Pro. As customers' interest in high-quality smartphones increases, the sales gap between the basic version of the iPhone and the Pro models is gradually narrowing. What is noteworthy is that for the first time in the third quarter, half of total iPhone sales were accounted for by the Pro versions. This change will help Apple to sell more expensive devices, experts say.
Samsung maintained its top position, taking four places in the top 10. The Galaxy A15 5G smartphone became the fourth best-selling smartphone in the world. This model performed especially well in North America, accounting for 20 percent of total sales.

The 4G version of the Galaxy A15 also became popular in regions where 5G is not yet developed, and entered the top ten. In addition, for the first time since 2018, the Galaxy C series entered the top ten. Sales of the Galaxy C24 series increased mainly due to strong marketing focused on GenAI capabilities. Its popularity was due to the introduction of artificial intelligence technologies, including smart search, automatic translation of voice messages and improved text processing functions.
The top ten also included two versions of the iPhone 16 line, but the Pro Max, despite its updated technical characteristics, could not overtake the previous models in terms of sales. The regular Pro version took ninth place.
2024 was a year of big changes for the flagship market. For the first time, more than half of the best-selling smartphones were equipped with artificial intelligence. Experts expect an increase in the number of AI devices among the best-selling models in 2025. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
