
Remittances to Uzbekistan reached $8.2 billion in January–June 2025, according to uz.kursiv.media citing the Central Bank’s report. This marks a 27% increase compared to the same period last year.
Russia led in the volume of transfers — $6.4 billion. Kazakhstan and the United States also ranked among the top three sources. Significant amounts were also sent from South Korea and Turkey.
The Central Bank attributes the growth to the strengthening of national currencies and strong demand for labor in migrant-hosting countries. The expansion of migration destinations also contributed to the trend.
Most transfers were made through money transfer systems, followed by p2p payments and the SWIFT financial platform.
In the first quarter of this year, remittances positively impacted Uzbekistan’s primary and secondary income accounts, with surpluses of $148.9 million and $2.2 billion, respectively. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
