Some ChatGPT users have reported seeing a new feature called “Study Together” in their tools menu, reported TechCrunch.
This mode is apparently being tested as a way to make the chatbot a more effective educational tool. Rather than simply providing answers, it appears to ask more questions and requires the user to respond. Some speculate it could be OpenAI’s version of Google’s LearnLM. Others wonder whether it will include a study group feature where multiple users can participate in the same session.
OpenAI has not issued any comment. ChatGPT itself stated: “OpenAI hasn’t officially announced when or if Study Together will be available to all users — or if it will require ChatGPT Plus.”
The feature is noteworthy as ChatGPT is already widely used in education — both for productive and questionable purposes. Teachers use it to draft lesson plans, and students turn to it for tutoring — or for writing assignments. Some have even warned that ChatGPT might be “killing” higher education. This new feature could help promote responsible use while limiting misuse. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
