XPeng P7 electric car sets a record with a 74-kilometer drift

The head of China’s XPeng Motors, He Xiaopeng, has officially announced that the updated XPeng P7 electric car has been included in the Guinness World Records book. The vehicle set a unique record for continuous drifting on a wet road. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports.

During the test, the electric car covered 73.594 kilometers in a controlled drift. The process lasted 1 hour and 33 minutes, and the car successfully completed 216 laps of a special track in Suzhou.

The track surface was covered with special ceramic material simulating frozen or snowy roads, with a coefficient of friction of 0.3. According to company representatives, the test was conducted to check the stability of the chassis and electrical systems.

The new XPeng P7 model is equipped with an AES active safety system that helps with emergency maneuvers on slippery roads. Xiaomi founder Lei Jun also publicly congratulated the XPeng team on this achievement.

For reference, the 2026 XPeng P7+ model has also been introduced, and its electric version can travel up to 725 kilometers, while the hybrid version can travel up to 1,550 kilometers.
