Xiaomi Opens New Research Center in Munich

Chinese company Xiaomi Auto has launched its European research and development center in Munich, Germany. This center is part of the brand’s strategy to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market and enter the European market in 2027. This was reported by Ixbt.com reports.
About 50 specialists are working at the new center. It is headed by Rudolf Dittrich, who previously worked on BMW’s racing car projects.
Another experienced BMW employee, Klaus-Diter Groll, has also been appointed responsible for developing the dynamic characteristics of the cars.
Company CEO Lei Jun said at the Beijing auto show that the center will work on high-performance cars, premium design and advanced technologies. The team includes engineers and designers with experience at such prestigious brands as BMW, Porsche, Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz.
The first model created with the participation of European specialists will be the high-powered version of the SU7 Ultra crossover. This electric car is expected to go on sale at the end of May.
Xiaomi aims to strengthen its position in the high-tech and premium segment through this model.
