Uzbekistan to end distance learning for teachers
Uzbekistan will overhaul its teacher education system, reported nova24.uz citing a new government resolution.

Starting from the 2025/2026 academic year, teacher training will only be conducted through full-time and evening programs. Enrollment in distance learning will be discontinued.

Licensing for private institutions offering pedagogical education will require approval from the Ministry of Preschool and School Education.

From the new academic year, instructors will be selected through a competitive process in fields linked to international programs, with involvement from foreign experts.

In addition, a new master’s program in “Hospital Pedagogy” will be launched to support children with special educational needs.

From September 1, 2026, international education programs will be gradually implemented in pedagogical colleges across the country.
