In 2026, who will receive the “suyunchi” payment for a second child

At a meeting with journalists held on January 29 in Tashkent, the Ministry of Economy and Finance stated that the current procedure for the one-time benefit paid for a second child — the “suyunchi” payment — will not change.
According to the ministry’s department director Sherzod Muhammadov, for the first child the “suyunchi” payment is paid in full to all women by the Social Protection Agency. For the second child, only low-income families included in the social protection register receive this money.
According to the ministry official, there is currently neither a plan nor a ready proposal to change this procedure. Therefore, in 2026 as well, the “suyunchi” payment for a second child will be preserved not for everyone, but specifically for the group in need of social protection.
The amount of the “suyunchi” payment is equal to 70.3 percent of the minimum wage and, by the current calculation, amounts to 890 thousand soums.
We remind that since March 2024, all women have been receiving the “suyunchi” payment for the first child, and for the second child only those in need of social protection. For the third and subsequent children, the one-time benefit is not paid at all.
As for budget indicators, in 2024 a total of 382.4 billion soums was allocated for the “suyunchi” payment, in 2025 — 275 billion soums. In 2026, payments in this area are set to be reduced to 229.8 billion soums.
In short, the rule is not changing: the first child — for everyone, the second child — only for low-income families in the register. This path will continue both in documents and in practice. A Daryo correspondent reported about the meeting in Tashkent.
