There will be a significant drop in medicine prices in Uzbekistan

In Uzbekistan, starting March 1, 2026, prices for medicines for the population will decrease by 40-60%. An official from the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry made an official statement.
It is noted that several important factors played a role in achieving this result:
Reference (appropriate) prices were established for more than 2 thousand imported medicines;
- Reduction of allowances for intermediaries - dealers (distributors) in the drug supply system;
- Attraction of investments in the amount of 392 million dollars (this is 2.3 times more than last year).
It is also planned to reduce the cost of another 4 thousand types of medicines by the end of the year and expand the production of import-substituting products at local enterprises based on technological transfer.
These reforms are aimed at stabilizing the pharmaceutical market and increasing the population's access to affordable medicines.
