Uzhydromet issued an urgent warning. Due to the expected precipitation and changes in air temperature on January 31 and February 1-3 of this year, there is a risk of avalanches in the mountainous regions of the republic.
According to the warning, the risk may be high in the following areas:
- Kashkadarya region: Dehkanabad, Kitab, Kamashi, Shakhrisabz districts;
- Surkhandarya region: Boysun, Kumkurgan, Sariosiyo, Uzun districts;
- Samarkand region: Nurabad, Koshrabad, Samarkand, Urgut districts;
- Jizzakh region: Bakhmal, Zaamin districts;
- Tashkent region: Bostanlyk, Parkent, Akhangaran districts (mountains of the Chatkal Range);
- Namangan region: Avalanche danger is declared in the Pap district.
In this regard, citizens living in mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers moving in mountainous areas are asked to take precautionary measures. Especially when crossing heavy slopes, valleys, and snow-covered paths, it is recommended to avoid rushing and check the condition before traveling.
