The Ministry of Preschool and School Education has approved the next updated list of schools with a low level of education in our country. A total of 460 schools across the republic were included in this list. Unfortunately, this indicator shows that there are still serious problems in the education system in our country.
In particular, the largest number of schools with a low quality of education falls on the Kashkadarya region. A total of 99 schools in Kashkadarya are on the list of such schools. This means that much work still needs to be done to improve the education system in the region.
Samarkand and Surkhandarya regions are next in line after Kashkadarya. In particular, 86 schools in Samarkand region were listed due to low quality of education, while 70 schools in Surkhandarya region fell into this situation.
The situation in other regions of our republic is also unsatisfactory. In particular, 36 schools in Jizzakh region, 34 in Namangan, 32 in Syrdarya, 29 in Fergana, 24 in Karakalpakstan, 23 in Andijan, 16 in Navoi, 9 in Khorezm, and 5 in Bukhara region were included in this special list due to the low quality of education.
According to the Public Education Information Portal, the number of such schools has decreased over the past two years. In particular, in 2023, the number of schools with low quality of education was 642, while in 2024 this figure was 545. Today, the number of these schools has decreased to 460. However, this number is still large.
It should be noted that in order to improve the quality of education in such schools, special financial incentives are being taken for teachers recruited from other regions. That is, qualified teachers recruited to schools with low quality of education will be given additional bonuses.
In the process of identifying schools with low quality of education, a number of important criteria are taken into account. Among them are indicators such as the rate of entry of school graduates into higher education institutions, the overall rating of schools, and the level of compliance with the "Modern School" standards.
According to the results of regular monitoring by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education and the State Inspectorate for Supervision of Education Quality, most of these schools are located in remote rural areas, and there are serious problems with educational infrastructure and student-teacher relations.
In the future, it is expected that the state will take more effective measures to improve the level of education in these schools. This, in turn, will undoubtedly be an important step towards ensuring the future of the younger generation in our country and transforming Uzbekistan into an educated society.
