Iran announced that the Strait of Hormuz is closed to ships of hostile states

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Arakchi issued a statement regarding the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that international shipping continues through this strategic corridor. According to him, this important sea route is largely open, with restrictions imposed only on ships and tankers belonging to certain countries.

In an interview with MS Now, the alcoholic noted that many tankers and merchant ships are still freely moving through the Strait of Hormuz. However, he stated that this corridor is closed to ships belonging to certain countries.

"Many tankers and ships are passing through the Strait of Hormuz. It is closed only to ships and tankers belonging to America and Israel," the minister said.

At the same time, the Iranian official emphasized that the concerns expressed by other countries regarding maritime security in the region are not related to Tehran's policy. According to him, restrictions are applied by Iran only to states and their allies acting against the country.

"In fact, the Strait of Hormuz is open. Closed only for tankers and ships belonging to our enemies. For those who are attacking us and their allies. Ships from all other countries can freely use this corridor," he added.

As is known, the Strait of Hormuz is a strategic sea route through which an important part of world oil transportation passes. Therefore, any political or military tension in this region can affect the international energy market and global trade routes.
