In Uzbekistan, the price of AI-92 gasoline sharply increased in one day

In Uzbekistan’s commodity market, the price of AI-92 gasoline significantly increased within a short time. This was reported in the latest data published by the Republican Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange of Uzbekistan.
It is reported that the price of AI-92 gasoline increased by 7.4 percent in one day and reached 12.72 million soums per ton.
According to specialists, such a price increase coincided with a sharp decline in trading volumes. Due to the shortage in the market and price dynamics, the volume of gasoline sold and registered on the exchange decreased by more than two times.
According to the data, on March 13 a total of 3,784 tons of gasoline were sold on the market, while on March 10 this figure amounted to only 1,835 tons.
Economist Otabek Bakirov, through his Telegram channel, criticized the current situation in the fuel market and wrote the following.
“We expected this, we knew it: gasoline prices have risen sharply. At the first exchange trades after the holidays, the price of 92-grade gasoline increased by 878.9 thousand soums or 7.4%, exceeding 12.7 million soums per ton.
As has been repeatedly stated and as we expected, the rise in oil prices became a strong excuse for oligarchy and monopolists. In addition, methane stations were closed without saying when they would reopen,” he wrote.
