Khiva launches 70 million dollar tourism project

The historic city of Khiva is currently undergoing a significant transformation aimed at enhancing its tourism and international event infrastructure. A major development project, valued at 70 million dollars, is underway to position the city as a premier destination for global forums, business conferences, and cultural gatherings. The centerpiece of this initiative is the construction of a state-of-the-art Congress Hall, designed to provide world-class facilities for international delegations and high-level meetings.
In addition to the Congress Hall, the project includes the creation of a new district based on the concept of an Eternal City, which will feature architecture reflecting Khiva's rich historical heritage. To support the influx of visitors, a modern three-star hotel is also being built with an investment of 150 billion soums. These developments are expected to significantly increase the city's investment appeal and create numerous job opportunities for the local population while strengthening the service sector.
Construction work on the site commenced in mid-January, and the project has now successfully transitioned into its second phase. According to the current development schedule, the primary construction activities are slated for completion by July 15. The entire complex is expected to be fully operational and ready to welcome guests by mid-August 2026. By integrating modern infrastructure with traditional aesthetics, Khiva aims to solidify its status not only as a cultural tourism hub but also as a prestigious venue for international dialogue and professional networking.
