The rate of grant access for school graduates has increased sharply

In Uzbekistan, the number of school graduates entering higher educational institutions on the basis of state grants has increased dramatically in recent years. According to the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, 84.2% of graduates, that is, 29,881 applicants, were admitted to university this year on the basis of a state grant.

In 2025, 619 graduates scored the highest score on the exams - 189. This result indicates an increase in the quality of education and the level of training of graduates. At the same time, the results of the general reception also showed positive changes.

Over the past three years, the enrollment of school graduates in higher educational institutions has increased by 3.5%. This trend indicates a growing interest in higher education among young people, and the distribution of state grants is becoming more open and fair for many.

Of the 438,869 graduates this year, 75 percent took part in the test trials. Of these, 25.8 percent, that is, 113,176 young people, had the opportunity to become students of state higher educational institutions. The rest can continue their education on a contract basis or through other educational institutions.

The results by region are also noteworthy. In Navoi region, 48.4 percent of graduates were admitted to state universities, in Bukhara - 38.2 percent, and in Jizzakh - 32.4 percent. This indicator shows that in some regions there is a high level of attention and opportunities for education.

The highest average score was recorded in the Bukhara region - 96 points. The applicants here are highly prepared and have shown stable results in the entrance exams.
