A new educational platform aimed at training highly qualified personnel in technical and engineering fields is being launched in Uzbekistan.
Important initiatives were put forward at the presentation by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the fundamental reform of the education system and its adaptation to modern requirements. The head of state emphasized the need to pay special attention to engineering and exact sciences.
For this purpose, new engineering schools are being created in 14 regions of the country within the system of the Agency for Specialized Educational Institutions. These schools will specialize in training a new generation of engineers.
Admission to these educational institutions is carried out on a competitive basis, and the educational process is organized based on the STEM model. Within the framework of the five-year educational program, it is planned to provide young people with highly qualified engineering knowledge.
These schools operate based on the best practices of the New Uzbekistan University and the Mirzo Ulugbek Specialized School. Education in them is free - fully financed from the state budget.
In addition, starting from 2026, a national competition "Best Engineering School" for the prize of the President of Uzbekistan will be held annually among general education schools.
In order to introduce in-depth study of natural sciences, specialized schools will be created in all regions. This serves to increase the scientific and technical potential of students.
