Foreign language teachers temporarily allowed to work without certificates

On September 15 of this year, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education adopted a special order establishing new privileges for foreign teachers working in general secondary education institutions. According to the order, teachers who do not have a certificate of at least B2 level are allowed to continue their employment until the end of 2025. This decision was made to prevent the dismissal of teachers and to ensure the continuity of the educational process.

The order notes that all foreign teachers working in general secondary schools, including those who do not meet the certificate requirement, may continue their work until the end of 2025. In addition, teachers whose certificates expire during the academic year are also allowed to work until the end of the school year.

Under these rules, a reserve of personnel is also formed from 3rd and 4th-year students of higher education institutions studying in the specialty "Teaching Foreign Languages" to fill potential vacant positions.

The Ministry also provides for additional training sessions for foreign teachers without certificates during preparation for national and international foreign language exams conducted by authorized organizations until December 1. These measures are aimed at improving the qualifications of such teachers and ensuring their effective performance in the educational process.

It is worth noting that previously the Republican Council of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of Uzbekistan submitted a proposal to the ministry not to dismiss teachers without an international language certificate. This news is a significant privilege for teachers, protects their employment, and ensures the continuity of education quality in schools.
