UNESCO head awarded the 'Friendship' order

In Samarkand, the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented the 'Friendship' order to UNESCO Director-General Audrey Azoulay. This award was given for her contribution to developing cooperation in the fields of science, education, and culture, as well as promoting Uzbekistan's cultural heritage.

During the meeting, the parties discussed further strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO. Audrey Azoulay congratulated the head of state on the successful holding of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference.

This event is being held outside Paris for the first time in 40 years. She praised the organization of the event and its rich program.

As part of the conference, the launching of UNESCO's Regional Center for Preschool Education, the presentation of the Beruni award, the celebration of Samarkand’s 3000th anniversary, as well as forums dedicated to museums, artificial intelligence, and gender issues are planned.
