An important innovation has been introduced in the procedure for organizing Hajj and Umrah pilgrimages in Uzbekistan. Resolution No. 27 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated January 24, 2026, defined new mechanisms aimed at digitalization and further improvement of this sphere.
In accordance with the resolution, a "Unified portal of Hajj and Umrah" has been launched in our country. Now, citizens planning to visit the holy site will be required to register through this portal. That is, entering information through a unified electronic system has been made mandatory for Hajj or Umrah trips.
The new procedure will be implemented gradually. Specifically:
- From February 1, 2026 - for the Hajj pilgrimage,
- From May 1, 2026 - Registration through the portal for Umrah pilgrimage will come into force.
At the same time, it is not allowed to organize trips without entering information about pilgrims into the database of this portal. This aims to increase the transparency, discipline, and effectiveness of pilgrimage processes.
The new system is expected to create convenience for citizens, as well as organize Hajj and Umrah events based on modern requirements.
