
On November 15, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, held private discussions at the “Ko‘ksaroy” residence. This was reported by the Press Service of the President of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, prospects for cooperation in the fields of energy, transport, chemical industry, agriculture and water management, ecology, and IT were discussed. It was noted that since the beginning of this year, mutual trade turnover has reached $4 billion, and an agreement was reached to increase this figure to $10 billion.
Additionally, it was highlighted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan have prepared an industrial cooperation project portfolio worth over $8 billion and that plans are in place to establish an investment platform. At the conclusion of the meeting, the two leaders agreed to expand interregional cooperation and decided to hold the first regional leaders' council in Kazakhstan in 2026.
