US President Donald Trump assessed Somalia as one of the most problematic and corrupt countries in the world and stated the need to return Somali immigrants to their homeland. He wrote about this on his page on Truth Social.
Trump emphasized that a significant portion of financial fraud in the US state of Minnesota - approximately 90% - is attributed to individuals illegally entering the country from Somalia.
"We need to return them to Somalia, where they came from. This is probably the worst and most corrupt country on Earth," the US leader wrote.
As a reminder, during his first presidential term, Trump made a decision to restrict the entry of citizens of certain countries, including Somalia, into the US. Later, Joe Biden lifted these restrictions. However, during his second term, Trump reinstated the ban, adding other countries to the list.
It was also reported that the US has carried out several airstrikes against armed groups associated with ISIS in Somalia in recent years.
