Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi reached an agreement in talks held in Tokyo to establish the first Uzbek-Japanese university in Tashkent. The project is planned to be implemented with the participation of Tsukuba University, one of Japan's leading higher education institutions.
The new university will be opened in Tashkent and will represent the first educational collaboration format between the two nations. At this institution, specialists will be trained in modern fields such as engineering, information technology, applied sciences, and management.
Special attention will be given to practical education, academic exchange, and joint programs with Japanese universities. The new university in Tashkent is expected to enhance the training of highly qualified personnel, expand scientific cooperation, and integrate Japanese standards into Uzbekistan's higher education system.
The agreement to establish the university is part of a broader package of decisions aimed at expanding the strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Japan.
