The increase in the minimum wage in Uzbekistan has directly impacted payments related to military service. Starting August 1, the minimum wage in the country was raised by 10 percent, reaching 1,271,000 soums. This triggered new calculations for those planning to serve in the Mobilization Conscription Reserve (MCR).
According to legislation, the cost of one month of military service in the MCR is determined based on seven times the minimum wage. Based on the new figures, this payment now amounts to 8,890,000 soums. As a result, the cost of the service has significantly increased compared to the previous amount.
The Mobilization Conscription Reserve is known as a system providing an opportunity to complete military service within a short period. This option is particularly popular among citizens whose job obligations or personal plans prevent them from serving for an extended duration. The new payment amount makes prior planning even more crucial for those choosing this type of service.
Experts highlight that such updates related to wage increases are a natural progression of social and economic processes. At the same time, being informed in advance about the terms and costs of military service plays an important role in enabling citizens to make well-informed decisions.
