New conveniences are being introduced for guests arriving in the city of Tashkent. From now on, upon entering the capital, it will be possible to leave a car at special parking areas outside the city and travel to the city center by public transport. This was announced on December 16 at a meeting chaired by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
As is known, at the beginning of December a separate decision was adopted in the capital aimed at improving the transport system and reducing traffic congestion. In accordance with this decision, a special center will begin operating in Tashkent to manage traffic based on a unified approach. Using artificial intelligence, the center will analyze vehicle and pedestrian flows at every street and intersection, helping to prevent congestion and road traffic accidents.
Next year, two control posts at the entrances to the capital will be moved outside the city, and three more will be reconstructed. In these areas, parking facilities for thousands of passenger and freight vehicles will be built, along with recreational zones for the public. These points will be connected to the public transport network.
At the same time, the number of “smart” intersections in the city will be increased, new stops, pedestrian paths, and bicycle lanes will be constructed, road infrastructure will be upgraded, and electric buses will be purchased. The new measures are aimed at easing traffic in Tashkent and making the urban environment more comfortable.
