Diplomatic relations with Russia will not be restored until the territorial integrity of Georgia is restored. This was announced by the country's Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.
"We do not have diplomatic relations and will not have them until the territorial integrity of Georgia is restored. However, we are again pursuing a pragmatic policy. Without pragmatism, of course, Georgia will not survive," he said.
According to Kobakhidze, this is one of the important lessons in the country's history. At the same time, the Prime Minister noted that there are clear directions in relations related to the territorial integrity of Georgia.
“This is not only a political issue, but also a legal one… But we have trade and economic ties, this is the current situation, and we intend to maintain this picture in our relations,” Kobakhidze added.
Russia is currently Georgia’s second largest trading partner. Trade turnover with Russia amounted to $5.4 billion in 2024. Russia’s share in Georgia’s exports of goods last year was 10.8 percent. The share of goods imported from Russia is 11.2 percent. Follow “Zamin” news on “Telegram”
