In the Spanish village of Lanjarón, located in the Granada province, local authorities have “officially” banned death due to a lack of cemetery space.
The only cemetery filled up in 1999, and no new land has been allocated since. Officials promote healthy living but haven’t clarified what happens if someone dies.
Analysts say this unusual measure may be a PR strategy to boost tourism, as the village gains popularity on TikTok as the “place where no one dies.”
