A woman from South Carolina, USA, won half a million dollars thanks to what seemed like a casual slip-up by her husband. One “mistake” in their married life opened the door to fortune for her.
The story began like this: the couple went to the store together for daily necessities. Returning to the car after shopping, the woman asked her husband why he hadn’t bought lottery tickets. He admitted that he had forgotten. So the woman went back into the store by herself and bought the tickets.
According to the woman, in an interview with the lottery company staff, while standing in line she was drawn to bright and attractive tickets. “I bought three. The first two didn’t win anything, but the third changed my entire life,” she said.
That third ticket won her $500,000 (about 6.5 billion soms).
The woman intends to manage the winnings wisely. She said she will spend part of the money on dream trips. The remaining amount will go towards early retirement, meaning leaving work ahead of schedule.
“Now I want to live peacefully, without worrying about anything,” she added.
