Britons ready to resign if forced to return to the office full-time
Almost half (48%) of professionals working in the UK would be willing to resign if their employers forced them to return to the office for the entire week, The Guardian reported, citing research by the recruitment company Hays.

Among female employees, this figure is even higher, at 58%. The study was conducted among companies with more than 8,000 employees.

Hybrid working mode is becoming popular

It was found that 75% of employees prefer a hybrid work schedule. According to this mode, employees work a certain part of the week in the office and the rest from home. Currently, 77% of companies in the UK use this model. The most common option is to work in the office three days a week, with 25 percent of companies adopting this mode.

The main reason why 77 percent of professionals want to work from home more is the high cost of commuting.

Employers are concerned

66 percent of employers are concerned that forcing employees to return to the office all the time could have negative consequences. At the same time, 52 percent of companies noted that the productivity of employees working in the office and from home is the same. However, 25 percent of the companies surveyed encouraged employees to come to the office more often.

According to Pam Lindsay-Dunn, chief operating officer of Hays, employers risk losing the best specialists if they introduce a mandatory return to the office. Therefore, she advised companies to make the work environment more convenient for employees.
