Iran and the United States: nuclear "chess" - who is the next move?

Iran and the United States: nuclear "chess" - who is the next move?
Is the nuclear deal coming back? In recent days, one of the most discussed topics on the international stage has been the news of the resumption of negotiations between Iran and the United States. Donald Trump himself announced this, and this statement caused a serious stir on the political scene.

First impressions after a long break
As you know, the nuclear deal signed in 2015 allowed Iran to enrich uranium for peaceful purposes, in exchange for the lifting of sanctions against Tehran. However, after Donald Trump became president, this agreement was canceled and relations became tense again.

Now Trump himself is announcing that negotiations will begin at a "very high level." Interestingly, he said this after a meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - that is, this is not just an Iran-US issue, but Israel is also a key player in this geopolitical game.

Oman is a non-interference mediator
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stressed that the negotiations will not be conducted directly, but through Oman. This is a sign of diplomatic caution. Araqchi made no secret of the fact that "the ball is in the US court." This means that Tehran is ready for negotiations, but Washington should act decisively.

Trump's letter to Khamenei
Another important point is that in March, Trump personally sent a letter to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. It demanded a new agreement within two months. In response, Khamenei agreed to dialogue only through an intermediary, not direct negotiations.

Military option - an open, but last resort
In recent weeks, reports have spread that the US and Israel are preparing to strike Iran's nuclear capabilities. However, Trump did not hide his dislike for this method: "Everyone knows that a deal is better than a military strike."

This sends two signals:
1. Trump intends to choose the path of negotiations.
2. If negotiations are ineffective, the military path is not yet off the agenda.

Why has this issue become relevant again?
The US side is setting new and much stricter conditions for a new agreement. Among them:
  • Complete cessation of Iran's uranium enrichment activities,
  • Eliminating the ability to produce nuclear weapons,
  • Limiting strategic ballistic missiles.

These demands are much more stringent than the terms set out in the 2015 agreement.

The final word: politics under the nuclear bomb
Negotiations have begun, but this process is not a “game for babies”. This is a complex political chess game that will affect the future of the world. Who will move first? The US or Iran? Is there a deal on the way or a threat?

We will follow along with Zamin.uz. Moreover, we will find out which scenario history will choose in the coming days.
