Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, speaking at the Bosporus diplomatic forum, made a firm statement about global political processes. The head of state emphasized that some forces were interested in escalating the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, while Turkey, even in such circumstances, acted for peace.
According to Erdoğan, Turkey has never chosen the path of alienation. "When many countries turned away from Syrian refugees, we turned to them. We did the same in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. While the barons, who profit from the war, fuel the fire, we worked for a just peace. We are currently continuing this path in Palestine and the Gaza Strip," the Turkish leader said.
At the same time, he did not disclose which states or structures he specifically referred to when he said "players" or "war barons."
Recall that in the summer of 2024, Erdoğan said that the actions of some political circles in the West are increasing the threat of the Third World War. At that time, he noted that there are those who want to make a lot of money from the arms trade, and the main market for them is precisely the West.
On September 23, 2025, the Turkish leader reiterated his "great enthusiasm for supporting the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine."
"We adhere to the motto 'There is no winner in war, no loser in a just world.' Therefore, we will continue to mobilize all our efforts to cease fire and achieve peace," Erdoğan stated.
