Terrorist activity prevented in Kazakhstan

The National Security Committee prevented a planned terrorist act in Almaty. This was reported by the committee's press service. A terrorist group consisting of five individuals who came from abroad had planned to carry out the crime. They were detained during the preparation stage. In September and October, eight Kazakhstan citizens suspected of promoting terrorism were arrested. In the last two months, six individuals have been sentenced by court verdicts for terrorist and extremist crimes. “Since the beginning of the year, a total of 89 people, including six foreign citizens, have been prosecuted for such crimes,” the NSC reported. For information, at the beginning of September this year, 20 supporters of destructive organizations were sentenced in Uzbekistan. They studied the properties of explosive substances and toxic preparations. Four of them managed to leave for Syria to join the ranks of terrorists.
