From today, the attention of futsal fans not only of our continent, but also of the whole world is focused on the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta. The Asian Cup matches, which will run from January 27 to February 7, will undoubtedly bring many memorable, nerve-wracking, and dramatic moments to futsal fans.
In short, Indonesia is one of the largest archipelagos in the world. The country consists of more than 17,500 islands, including the western part of the island of New Guinea. This region, with an area of 1,904.6 thousand square kilometers, is known for its beautiful nature, diverse culture, and hospitality. And now it is once again becoming the big stage of Asian futsal.
It should be noted that Indonesia is hosting the Asian Futsal Cup for the second time. The first continental championship was held in this country in 2002. Twenty-four years later, the Asian futsal community is gathering again in Jakarta. This undoubtedly raises the spirit of the competition and gives a sense of historical atmosphere.
Two major sports facilities in Jakarta have been fully prepared to host the competition at a high level. They will become the main venues for the Asian Cup-2026.
The first arena is the Indonesia Arena in the center of the capital. This modern, universal sports complex was officially commissioned on August 7, 2023. This huge facility, designed for 16,500 spectators, has very comfortable conditions for hosting major tournaments.
The second destination is the Jakarta International Volodrome. Located in the eastern part of the capital, in the Ravamangun area, this complex was built as part of the 2018 Asian Games and can accommodate 8,500 fans. The atmosphere of the Volodrome is also special, where games always take place in an intense mood.
According to the competition calendar, the matches of groups "A" and "C" in the Asian Cup-2026 will be held at the Indonesia Arena. The "B" and "D" groups will be held at the Jakarta International Volodrome. Thus, Jakarta will present a grand futsal celebration simultaneously on two venues.
One of the most interesting aspects is the group stage matches of the Uzbekistan national team. It has been announced that all our team's group matches will be held at the Indonesia Arena in the center of the capital. Also, in the matches of the 3rd round of the group stage, which will start simultaneously, the Uzbekistan national team will play in this arena. The second match in the group will be held at the Jakarta International Volodrome.
