Import of Russian turkey reached a record high

In January-September 2025, Uzbekistan imported over 850 tons of turkey meat and internal organs from Russia at a value of $1.5 million. This is the highest figure in history, according to the “Agroexport” analytical center.

For comparison, in 2024 the country imported only three tons of turkey products for $8,500. The first import of this product began in 2022.

Thus, the volume of turkey imports increased 283 times. A similar trend is being observed in Tajikistan as well, where about 700 tons of turkey products, worth more than $1 million, were imported in the same period.

In 2024, this figure did not exceed two tons. The growing demand for Russian turkey in Uzbekistan is taking place against the backdrop of a sharp increase in the prices of beef and other types of meat.

Previously, Kursiv Uzbekistan had reported on this matter. On average, Uzbeks consume 42.4 kilograms of meat per year.
