Miss Universe 2025: Victory and Controversy

The title of "Miss Universe 2025" was won by Fatima Bosch of Mexico, CNN reports. Her victory at the competition, held in Thailand, became one of the most controversial events of the season.

Prior to the final, the show director, Navat Itsaragrisil, publicly insulted the Mexican contestant. He yelled at her, demanded that she leave the event, and called her "stupid."

In response, Fatima stated, "I will not allow anyone to treat me this way," and left the hall. The incident sparked significant backlash.

Many contestants showed solidarity with Fatima by withdrawing from the competition. Later, Navat Itsaragrisil apologized to her publicly.

The controversy was further fueled by statements made by the 1996 "Miss Universe" winner, Alicia Machado, who accused Navat of discriminatory behavior in public.

Additionally, a few days before the results were announced, two judges resigned from the panel. One of them accused the organizers of rigging the competition results.
