US strikes targets in Syria

The US Central Command reported that overnight on January 11, airstrikes were carried out against ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) targets in Syria. These strikes were part of the “Hawk Strike” operation in response to the killing of US military personnel and a translator.
According to reports, more than 35 ISIS targets were destroyed during the strikes. Over 90 precision munitions were used, and more than 20 military aircraft, including F-15E, A-10, AC-130J, and MQ-9 drones, were involved.
The strikes were in response to an incident on December 13, 2025, when an ISIS fighter killed two US military members and a translator in Syria, injuring three others. US officials described this event as a terrorist attack.
The US stated that such strikes are carried out to protect military personnel and combat terrorism. The international community continues to closely monitor the situation in Syria.
