The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is developing a new procedure for reviewing the personal information of foreign tourists. According to the Federal Register, visitors to the U.S. will now be required to provide a five-year history of their social media accounts.
Additionally, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency may request tourists' email addresses and phone numbers. This measure is part of Washington's efforts to tighten its overall visa policy.
The initiative will also affect citizens of visa-free countries, including the United Kingdom and Germany. These individuals are allowed to obtain travel authorization online without applying for a visa.
Previously, the Trump administration introduced strict rules allowing U.S. consulates to deny visas to individuals with issues such as obesity, cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. It was stated that these conditions could lead to "long-term medical costs" for the U.S.
