President meets compatriots in Japan

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is currently on an official visit to Tokyo. The head of state was welcomed at Haneda International Airport by Japan's Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications, Yoshimasa Hayashi, along with other officials.

The President was also warmly greeted by Uzbek citizens working and studying in Japan. He engaged in a conversation with them.

During the discussion, they exchanged views about the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, as well as the plans and aspirations of citizens living abroad. The main events of the visit are scheduled for December 19–20.

During this time, meetings with Emperor Naruhito of Japan, Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, business leaders, and representatives from academic circles are planned. Additionally, participation in the first summit of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue is on the agenda.
