Fire at Karachi shopping center claims 11 lives

At least 11 people have died in a fire at a shopping center in Karachi, The Washington Post reports. The incident occurred on January 17.

The fire reportedly started in the evening and quickly spread through shops storing cosmetics, clothing, and plastic goods.

As of January 19, nearly 60 people remain on the missing persons list. Their relatives are standing by the building, hoping for updates from rescue teams inspecting the damaged areas.

According to the city mayor and police, search-and-rescue operations continued throughout the night. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and an investigation has been launched.
