A court verdict was read against the head of a medical association in the Fergana region, who demanded money from a citizen in exchange for employment. This was reported on the "Hudud" news program.
It was reported that a citizen who worked as an informal assistant IT specialist at the Uzbekistan District Medical Association until October 2025 appealed to the head of the association with a request to be officially employed as an information technology operator. However, it is said that the official demanded $500 in exchange for "resolving" this issue.
Based on the citizen's appeal, the Fergana Regional Department of the State Security Service and relevant agencies conducted an operational event. During the operation, the head of the medical association was detained with material evidence while receiving the agreed amount of money.
The criminal case on this fact was considered in the Uzbekistan District Criminal Court. According to the court verdict, the former head of the medical association was found guilty under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code. As a result, he was sentenced to two years of imprisonment and deprivation of the right to hold positions related to financial responsibility in enterprises, institutions, and organizations with state participation for a period of two years.
